Manpower is seeking a dynamic and results-driven HR Manager to join our client's growing team in the hospitality sector.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR function to align with our client's strategic goals. This role is integral to maintaining a motivated, skilled, and happy workforce that embodies our commitment to outstanding service. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all human resource activities, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to contribute to a high-performing, hospitality-focused organisation.


Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the welfare and development of all employees, and for implementing the hotel's policies.
  • Coach the management team on all conditions of employment.
  • Assume overall responsibility for all staff recruitment, training, and development.
  • Assist all management in manpower planning and control.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as required.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are in line with the current legislation and keep abreast of current trends, and practices in the personnel field.
  • Communicate information related to employer-employee relations, employee activities, and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Develop the departments goals, business plan, and yearly budget.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports for the Managements use, in accordance with the company's and public authorities requirements.
  • Create and maintain a positive atmosphere within the hotel that allows open two-way communication and ensuring that morale and productivity reach the highest possible levels.
  • Maintain continuous staff initiative programs throughout the year.
  • Monitor all Performance Appraisals and act in an advisory capacity to the departmental heads during the process. Attend performance review meetings with the respective manager.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of improved methods of work and better utilization of staff in all areas.
  • Counsel the hotel employees as needed in areas such as career planning, training and development, employee/personal relations, and legal issues related to employees.
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Managerial role, preferably in hospitality or operations.
  • Fluent in both Maltese and English language (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases and experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the hotel.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
